lakshmiHimesh Reshammiya, who has always opted for younger heroines like Hansikaa, Shweta Kumar and Jennifer Kotwal in his films, has signed on one more Bollywood newcomer for his forthcoming venture, Hhey Gujju.

The actress in question is Tamillian actress Lakshmi Rai. Himesh will be playing a double role in this film directed by Satish Kaushik.

So why does Himesh choose to cast fresh faces in all his films? A close friend of the music director-turned-actor has the answer. "Himesh is an avid follower of astrology and is extremely superstitious. He is just following his astrologer’s advice of choosing a new heroine every time he acts in a film. He believes that this will bring him success with the film and in his career," says the friend.

The shooting of Hhey Gujju has already begun in Mumbai and two hot numbers featuring Lakshmi and Himesh have already been shot in the last two weeks. Lakshmi is playing the character of a Punjabi girl, who is in love with Himesh.

Lakshmi, who is originally from Belgaum, is now based in Chennai. She has been doing many Tamil and Telugu films for past three years. Hhey Gujju will be her first big break in Bollywood. Lakshmi was also in the news recently for her growing proximity to Indian cricketer M.S. Dhoni.
