Sonal loves to be in front of the lens, whether that is a still camera or a moving one. She is an introvert by nature, which makes acting her way of expressing herself. In this film, she portrays the role of a modern and independent call centre employee. “I play a strong-headed girl in the film. I am modern and at the same time totally against criminal acts. I would never think twice before punishing a loved one if he has committed a crime.”

The actress had a wonderful time shooting with Emraan Hashmi and Kunal Deshmukh. Emraan, who is known to be a prankster, luckily did not play any pranks on her. Why did Sonal choose Jannat as her debut movie? “This was a topic which has never been dealt with. Thus I was keen to work in the film. India is a country which loves Bollywood and cricket. We will be providing both through this movie. Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt are known to give substantial roles to their leading ladies. So I was certain that I wanted this to be my debut movie,” she elaborated. We will be seeing a lot of more of Sonal now. She has signed a three-movie deal with the Bhatts and is also doing a Telugu film. With so much of work on hand Sonal has “no time for love”, as she laughingly puts it.
