    souryam Movie review

Cast: Gopichand, Anushka, Poonam Kaur, Dharmavarapu, Ali, Ajay, Manoj, MS Narayana, Sarath Babu, Tanikella Bharani, Krishna Bhagvan, Supreeth, Sudha and others.

    Music: Mani Sharma

    Director: J Shiva

    Producer: V Anand Prasad.

souryam is hitherto another flick of hero Gopichand with the usual stuff like violence, action and some romance entrenched in it. The mass element is also lingering in some parts of the movie and the twist is that this time the film has a brother sister tinge added to it. The story of this film can be called as a mixture of Gopichand’s earlier films such as Lakshyam, Ranam and Ontari. But here the hero plays the role of the police officer.
    Story

Vijay (Gopichand) and Divya (Poonam Kaur) are orphaned children of a Goon. The children are left with no one to be taken care off as the father meets a traumatizing death. Since, the father of the kids used to harass the normal public they eschew the kids since their father used to harass them.

Since, Vijay is in a position that he cannot feed his younger sister he discovers that a missionary father adopts the orphaned kids and provides them with meals and clothes. So, he decides to lie to the missionary father that Divya happens to be an orphan and gives her to the father of missionary. As a result, Divya misunderstands Vijay and develops a negative feeling about him in her heart.

As time passes in a flash in a typical cinematic style Vijay turns into an honest Assistant Commissioner of Police. This theme of hero becoming an ACP is quite common these days. As if it is like a guy passing out a BA degree. Coming back to the story as a strict and honest police officer Vijay is against the evil deeds in the society. He finds out the cause which happens to be Siva ram Goud. The evil activities of his are totally destroyed and the villain is left penny less with his financial support devastated. So, Siva ram Goud plans to take the revenge on the police cop. He tries to figure out Vijay’s weaknesses and then discovers that he has a sister who was adopted by a Christian missionary around 15 years ago.

Vijay searches for his sister divya and learns that she is studying in Kolkata. Then Vijay traces his sister and her residence in Kolkata and leaves in order to meet her. The villain follows the hero.

Swetha (Anushka) who happens to be a friend of Divya happens to incidentally meet Vijay. In order to please his sister that his deed which he did 15 years back was justifying, Vijay enrolls himself as a student and all of them meet in the college.

Then the romance element, sister sentiment and the villainous acts run equally and in parallel to each other.

The climax of the film is about how Vijay saves his sister from the goons and how he manages to win his sister back along with his love?
    Performances

Gopichand plays the role of an honest cop and his body language is well suitable to the character. His razor sharp eyes and his flexible acting skills to bash up the goons are awesome. His acting and action skills need no mentioning. But his dancing skills must be improved a lot.

Anushka’s role is limited and her role is to romance with the hero in the latter half. The sexy and gorgeous lady has once again proved that she has a body which is seductive and sizzling. Her eyes in some scenes intoxicate the audience and her costumes are as usual a factor to heat the male pants in the theatres.

Poonam Kaur who is well known for her glam doll role has done a decent job as a sister. She suits her character aptly as she is young and chirpy.

Manoj K Jayan excels as a villain. His role is well carved and convincing.

Comedy track is lead by Dharmavarapu, Ali, Raghu Babu and Krishna Bhagan. From the comedy pack only few jokes end up tickling the audience.

Mani Sharma Music is average and tow songs are peppy to be danced in the theatres. As usual Anushka’s presence in the songs makes some meaning to them and her gyrations to the dance numbers add spice to the song.

On the whole the director has managed some stuff in the second half of the movie. But Shiva (Director) should have brought the same second half pace in the first half. With Anushka addition to the film, souryam us going to make a 50 day mark in the Andhra regions. With the college season on the peak and the dussera holidays coming down this film may pick up its pace on the weekends.

    Ashta Chamma review

    Ashta Chamma

Cast: Nani, Swathi, Bhargavi, Sreenivas, Hema, Tanikella Bharani, Jhansi and others

    Music: Kalyani Malik

    Director: Indraganti Mohan Krishna

    Producer: Ram Mohan P

Ashta Chamma has nothing much to be narrated, but is seemingly presented with some chirpiest comedy in the background. The story, screenplay and the dialogues are amusing and the star cast looks aptly embedded in the film.  The comedy lovers will feel the humor up to the mark and quite entertaining.

    Story

Lavanya (Swathi), a young girl is obsessed with actor Mahesh babu and has an aim to marry him. She day dreams to be the bride of the chocolate faced actor and likes to have kids with him. Meanwhile, Lavanya’s aunt (Jhansi) makes many attempts to arrange a marriage alliance for lavanya. But her obsession for the price makes her evade all the marriage proposals and the aunt is fumed with Lavanya’s marriage evasion activities.
But lavanya’s hallucination gets shattered when she discovers the truth, that her dream boy Mahesh Babu is already a married Peron. And his wife happens to be Namratha.

Lavanya is so much disappointed with this news that she becomes depressed. But still continues to love actor Mahesh babu and plays the songs and music from his films.

With this deed the whole neighborhood is havocked and lavanya’s neighbor Anand (sreenivas) is the most effected.

To get rid of Lavanya’s crazy deeds, Anand hatches a plan to hunt for a person who has the name of Mahesh babu. To his fortune a guy named Nani matches his hunting profile. Nani works in a pub and agrees to Anand’s plan. He lures Swathi with his charming talks and deeds and Lavanya falls in love with him.

But the plan turns out into a thud, when Nani’s actual name is discovered to be as Rambabu and not as Mahesh. Meanwhile, another tale of love starts between Anand and Rambabu’s sister Varalakshmi (Bhargavi) who hails from a Andhra Village Lakkavaram.

The rest is the conclusion of the story which has to be watched on the silver screen. However, all ends happily at the end.

    Performances

Swathi is the highlight in this movie. She acts realistically and her acting skills are well exposed in each and every frame. The movie basks on her chirpy dialogue delivery which churns out humor.

Nani has lived his character very well. But still he lacks the charm to attract the girl crowds.

Sreenivas gave his 100% to the film. But his character was brief and was justifiable.

Bhargavi, who plays the lady love of Sreenivas, is a TV artist already. So her acting skills and dialogue delivery were impeccable. but her expression were little bit bulky like her figure. She was last seen in ‘Annavaram’ as a side artists. Remember, the scene in which Pawan Kalyan mistakenly scissors the long hair of Bhargavi’s mother instead of her.

On the whole the movie revolves around Swathi and her desire to marry Mahesh. The director made it well from the first to last scene with a comic touch

The movie will live up to 4 weeks at the box office and may even celebrate its 50 day run. More than it is doubtful?
