    Performances

Anushka looks awesome in the whole movie with her girl next door looks and Kumkum, saris, lavish jewellery in her neck. She looks totally different from her glam doll look and tries to imitate late soundarya in some scenes. With this movie, her acting skills have been exposed and she has a lot of future in the film industry.

Sonu Sood acts aptly according to his character. Though his lip moment lacks realism, his acting sills out shadow it.

Sayaji Shinde who has done only villain roles till date acts as a fakir in this movie and guides the movie a little bit.

Manorama, Kaikala Satyanarayana, Annapoorna, Suhasini, Chalapathi rao, Ahuthi Prasad and others need no introduction at all as they are already versatile actors.

Music by Koti is according to the movie’s storyline.

Direction by KODI is excellent, though some scenes mimic Soundarya’s previous Ammoru film. The graphics part and the horror look to some scenes is very much appluadable as a new look has been achieved in doing so by him. Screenplay is excellent and no words at all.

On the whole, this film is only for adults as children cannot digest this film. This movie will be a average hit with a 50 day run mileage. Women folks will throng to the theatres.

Cast: Dhanush, Tamannah, Vivek, Suman, Sayaji Shinde, Prathap Pothan and others

    Music: Mani Sharma

    Director: Suraj

    Produced:  Vijaya Productions.
Padikathavan is a typical Dhanush entertainer which as everything in it in petite quantities. Padikathavan means Illiterate and this title fits apt to the hero’s character. The director Suraj has succeeded in adding everything to the film and so the movie succeeds to please the audiences to some extent.

    Story

Radhakrishnan (Dhanush) is a boy in his family who is less qualified in studies and is renamed as Padikathavan (Illiterate) by his family members. The reason is that because Radhakrishnan’s family has all double degree holders, while the hero is not even a graduate. He just manages to reach the mark of 10th standard.

Radhakrishnan is a go easy guy and takes on evil which happens in front of him. He names his name as Rocky in short and bashes the goons who cross his path in the society. Kasi anandhan (Atul Kulkarni) is a mafia dons who rules the society around him on account his power, gang and financial resources. He rules the entire Thirunelveli and also makes it to shatter the whole state. But unfortunately the villain’s brother is killed by a mysterious person and so Kasi is after the culprit.

Radhakrishnan incidentally meets Gayatri (Tamannah) who is pursuing her aeronautical sciences in a college in the near by place and happens to meet Rocky. Rocky falls in love with the angel faced Tamannah who after 10 seconds of reel flow reciprocates his love and a duet is rolled on.

Then enters the batch of villains, rather the beats into the film in the disguise of Samara Simha Reddy (Suman) who is an enemy of Rami reddy (Sayaji Shindi) and then the action sequences pile up before the audiences.

Ramakrishnan (Prathap Pothan) is the father of the rocky who always pesters his child for not being well versed in studies and is vexed up with Rocky’s daily deeds.

Then starts the action track which is a pure treat to the action lovers and the audiences are left to see Dhanush fighting with the batch of Villains.

What happens next is a must watch climax which has to be seen on the silver screen. But all ends well finally.

    Performances

Dhanush the Bruce lee of Kollywood has successfully manages to give his 100% to his films and will surely satisfy his fans in all sorts. Acting, dancing, action sequences are performed well by Dhanush and his impeccable comic timing is a breather.

Milky white Tamannah has nothing much to prove in this film, but she adds the glam quotient to the film. She looks awesome in some scenes and looks very beautiful in Rani Rangamma song.

The rest of the characters played by Prathap pothan and co are satisfying.

Suman heads the villain and in this film and Sayaji Shinde and Atul Kulkarni add fire to their villain characters.

Suraj has successfully carved the film Padikathavan and his screenplay is perfect. Music of Padikathavan is composed by Mani Sharma and looks catchy.

On the whole, Padhikathavan is an action cum musical entertainer and is a real treat for Dhanush fans. It offers all the commercial elements and so may touch the 50 day mark in Kollywood.

Cast: Ram, Hansika Motwani, Sheela, Sunil, Naresh, Jhansi, Mukesh Rishi and others

    Music: Chakri

    Director: B Gopal

    Producer: MS Raju

This movie was released with a lot of hype and expectations for two reasons. First it was a movie directed by B. Gopal who had the previous hit as INDRA and the second reason is that it is produced and distributed by the hattrick Producer MS Raju.

    Story

The story begins by showing Krishnakanth (Ram) who is a young and much talented fellow as a only brother of Naresh and has a sister in law which is the character played by Actress Jhansi. He takes his life easy and enjoys the passing time with his friends lead by Comedian Sunil.

Krish makes his future plan as he is in an aim to marry a girl who has a permanent Visa in USA. By doing so, he has an idea to fly to USA and settled won there permanently. Manju (Sheela) is a girl who fetches her USA Visa to pursue her higher studies in New Jersey and incidentally comes across Krishnakanth.

Krish starts his game plan and acts as if he is in love with Manju. He succeeds in winning her heart, but to his misfortune he meets Meenakshi (Hansika Motwani) who also enters the life of Krish.

Meanwhile, Krish is in a fix that he has two girls falling for her and Manju starts to reciprocate his love and wants him to marry. Incidentally Meenakshi discovers the truth that Krish is playing a double love game with her and moves away from his life.

Krish later on discovers that he is in love with Meenakshi and wants back her in his life. He gets to known that his love towards Manju is just infatuation and a need to fulfill his foreign desire. Krish finds Meenakshi back and tries to win her. But hold on, the story takes a twist here.

The political goons are after Meenakshi and they want her to die. The rest of the story is to why the villains are after Meenakshi? What happens to Manju’s love, and so on?

    Performances

Ram plays the character of Krishnakanth well. His young looks and his dancing skills make him a true hero,. But in some scenes he does some over acting which is clearly visible.

Hansika Motwani looks great in this movie and her glam quotient is too hot in this movie. She acts according to her character and justifies her role.

Sheela who transformed in a glam doll with this film looks as a big surprise package. She looks hot and sizzling in modern dresses.

The comedy track is lead by Sunil and acts as a best friend to actor Ram. He succeeds in churning out some comedy along with his other comedian co-stars.

Mukesh Rishi and Pradeep Rawath add the villainous characters to the film and succeed in doing so.

Music looks dull as Chakri has composed some disastrous tunes for this film.

The director has concentrated on the action element of the film and has succeeded in giving a treat for the action lovers, comedy is also well treated in the film and holds good strength oh hard core action.

On the whole, the movie gives some treat to the audiences and is a price worthy entertainment this festive season. It may gallop to the 50 day mark and may end up there.

    Villu Review

    villu reviewVillu Movie Review

Cast: Vijay, Nayantara, Vadivelu, Bijju Menon, Prakash Raj, Napolean and others

    Music: Devi Sri Prasad

    Director: Prabhu Deva

Producer: Karuna Murthy and Arun Pandian

VILLU is a typical Ilayapathi Vijay’s story and is surely tailored to suit the tastes of Vijay Fans. The rest of the audiences feel that they are foxed by the promos and in the climax of the film; they conclude for themselves that they wasted the precious time as well as money.

    Story

The movie opens highlighting Hero Pugazh (Vijay) who helps everyone who are in need and punishes those who get into some evil acts. The movie brings in the shades of Vijay’s previous hit Pokkiri in some frame or the other.

Pugazh gets appointed as a secret agent for the Police department and this offer is given to him by Police Officer Manoj Khan. He gives a new name to Pugazh and tags him as Villu (Arrow).

Police cop Manoj makes Villu (Vijay) reveal the underworld to a large extent and as a benevolent secret agent, Villu follows the path of truth to punish the people of the underworld. Villu prefers to reveal the deeds and faces of the underworld dons and wants to see them behind bars.

Meanwhile, the love quotient is added by the director. Villu (Vijay) falls in love with Jhanvi (Nayantara). She is young, beautiful and falls in love with the hero in no time. Villu later on finds that she is none other than the only daughter of the main dons which is the character played by actor Prakash Raj.

Then suddenly due to some incidents, Pugazh real back ground is revealed. He is a son of a military officer whose only aim is to protect his country from the traitors. But unfortunately he gets killed by Prakash raj and his co villains.

They prove that Vijay’s father is a traitor of the country and even does not allow the village to perform his last rites. Vijay’s Mother (Ranjani) is also called as a wife of a traitor and to ward off this tag, Vijay resolute to revel the truth and decides to prove his father as a perfect patriotic soldier of the country.

Then after some flow of the reel, the movie ends well on a happy note with the bad punished by the good.

    Performances.

Vijay as usual has given his best and his acting, dancing and expressive skills are awesome. His previous hit Pokkiri stunts and expressions are mimicked in some frames to ignite the film with high voltage of action.

Nayntara is adds glam to the movie. But she looks awesome in churidhars and modern costumes.

Prakash Raj is the main villain in this film and leads the pack with his evil deeds. The previous combination of Vijay and Prakash Raj locking their horns was seen in Pokkiri and the same is seen in Villu.

Vadivellu adds zing to Villu and succeeds in churning out some comedy.

The music by Devi Sri Prasad is good and melodious. Mass and class crowds will be happy with the music outcome. But all the tunes are copied from tollywood.

Prabhu Deva needs a description. In order to add the action thrill to the film, he added the POKKIRI scenes and costumes which make some scenes bore some. But still his screen play is applaudable. Nothing much is there to reveal his story writing skills.

On the whole, this movie is strictly aimed for the sake of Vijay’s fans and so Villu may not appeal to the class of family crowds.
