Satyam Movie Review
Cast: Vishal, Nayantara, Upendra, Premji Gangji, Amaran and others.
Music: Harris Jayaraj
Director: Rajasekhar
Producer: Vikram Krishna
The story of the film is the same trend which is flowing from the past 25 years. A strict police officer with valued principles and abiding the law to the utmost. He involves in eradicating criminals and saves the innocent. But the presentation is in a new and innovative way and so Vishal excels in this area of presentation.
Story
Satyam (Vishal) is an assistant commissioner of police who is involved in the investigating the murder mysteries of the ministers of state. He finds the true killer (Upendra) and learns that the killer is an ex cop who was betrayed by some misters and so is taking a revenge on them.
Moreover, Upendra is the same cop, who was an idol to Satyam and taking him as the inspiration, Satyam becomes an ACP. When the real motive behind the Killer’s activities is discovered Satyam gets surprised by the facts. But is in a belief that all punishments must be given by the Indian penal code.
Satyam challenges Upendra that he is going to nab the entire criminal’s who are in the disguise of the ministers and will also find out the leader behind the culprits. He then investigates and then finds that a minister who is having an eye of the chief ministerial post is behind the whole evil deeds. Adding to this, the same minister was behind the conspiracy against Upendra and as a result Upendra gets betrayed in his duty.
However, Satyam has a parallel love track with a TV journalist named Deivanayaki (Nayantara). She is restricted to dreams songs and some skin show to her revealing dresses.
Vishal than faces many troubles in revealing the truth and to nab the culprits. But some how reaches his goal in the end.
Performances
Vishal has done his best to fit the role of the Police officer. The training which he obtained for 1 month under a super cop has been well mimicked in this film. His muscular body and his 6 pack abs are surely applaudable. They suit to the action sequences and also to the police officers role.
Upendra, who is a top Kannada star, is another highlight in this film. his versatile acting skills are well exposed in the role of a serial killer.
Nayantara is restricted as a glam doll of Vishal and is seen for a brief period. Her skin show in the songs and her body language while enacting romantic scenes with the hero are surely worth mentioning.
Rest of the cast is apt for their respective role. Kota Srinivas rao who is originated as an actor from Tollywood does his villains role perfectly. Senthil tries to ignite some comedy in the film.
Harris Jayaraj’s music is below average. His previous hit music comprising is seen lacking in this film.
Rajsekhar, the director of this film has presented the same script before the audience. However, the screen play in some sequences is new and innovative. But the Telugu flavor in a Kollywood film will surely be a black mark for Satyam.
On the whole the film is a sure disappointment for Vishal fans. One wonders, why the hero took almost 13 months to do this film.
