‘Asal’ is a much awaited movie for Ajith fans as well as to the Tamil cinema audiences. The combo of director Saran and Actor Ajith has once again weaved their magic in this film and the movie is said to be a wholesome entertainer.
Story
Jeevanathan (senior Ajith) is an arms dealer who works for government in France. He strictly supplies the weapons to the government and makes money from the supply only. He has three sons named Sam (Sampath Raj), Prasad (Rajeev Krishna) and Shiva (Ajith). Out of the three, the youngster Shiva is a soft natured guy with a good heart. He obeys his elders and gets sidelined in the family.

Sam and Prasad always sideline the opinion and value of Shiva and dominate the house. One fine day, Sam decides to earn profits in a wrong way, by making a deal with the terrorist. Jeevanatham learns about this fact and shows resistance. But Jeevanatham’s friend, who is an uncle (Milind Solomon) to the three brothers’s, helps them out in making this plan a grand success.
Shetty (Kelly Dorjee) is a rival in this buiness to Jeevanatham and his business and he is always crossing his swords with the family. Shiva tries to keep the family intact and prevents split in between his two elder brothers by his nature.
Sara (Sameera reddy) who works in France Embassy falls in love with actor Ajith. But Sulabha (Bhavana) steals the heart of Shiva to a major extent.
Daniel Dharmaraj (Suresh) is a French cop who adds life to the reel to this film.
What happens in the climax is suspense and who marries whom, is also a suspense which must be watched on big screen.
Performances
Asal is a movie made for Ajith’s stature and has everything in it to please his fans. The storyline is apt for Ajith’s image and also suits to his age and skills.
Sameera and Bhavana add life to the reel and carry their roles with perfection. Asal, portrays Sameera in a loud and vivacious character equipped with glamour and
Prabhu, who is also a producer of this film, has an impressive character in ‘Asal’. He needs no narration about his acting in this film as he is impeccable.
Music by Bharadwaj is excellent and suits to the mood of the film.
Director Saran has come up with a good story which has a large scope of portraying the actor Ajith’s character to the peak in the film ‘Asal’. Screenplay and cinematography are also well apt for the storyline and the reel flow.
On the whole, the movie ‘Asal’ has full potential to prove to be a hit, unless and until, Ajith’s fans support him. It is a fact that this movie has a good potential to ward off the disappointment of Ajith’s Previous release AEGAN and may run a 50 day run in the theatres.
