Tamil heroes have no value in Tollywood
Saturday, 14 November 2009
surya-sixpackTamil stars like Vikram, Surya, Kamal, Vishal, and Vijay and so on are mighty warriors in the Tamil cinema industry. But when it comes to other languages, their dubbed films do not get the value as in Kollywood.

Leaving aside, Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan, stars like Surya, Vikram and Vijay are failing to impress the Telugu cinema audiences. The tollywood market for them seems to be extremely tough for the stars.

Vikram’s “Kanthaswamy’ dubbed into telugu as ‘Mallanna’; Vishal’s Thoranai- Pista in telugu Kamal’s Unnaipol Oruvan- Ennadu in telugu; Surya’s ‘Aadhavan’ – Ghatikudu in telugu are said to be perfect disasters in telugu.

But previously, Anniyan, Pitamagan, Chandramulhi, Ghajini were tremendous hits in Telugu and now the movies of same actors are not even touching the 25 day mark. The reasons can be many and out of them few are listed. Lack of Genuine stories is one reason for the movie to getting a beating in other languages. The concept and music are also not well carved in order to attract the audiences. And so since the content is bad, the Kollywood stars are getting a beating at the Telugu box office.

Primarily, Kollywood itself is rejecting these movies as they are lacking various factors such as story, music, screenplay for which they are getting rejected. And so if these movies do not get the value in the Tamil language, then expectations from other languages can be either zero or almost nil.
